Golden Sunrise Forums

The Golden Sunrise Forums are now on page five of the "golden sun forums" search. This time, it is the "Golden Sun Music" thread that's taken us to the page.

This is a real achievement, and is quite impressive. We have a long way to go, but there is no denying that it means something, and that we can no longer say the predicted wave of people from the new game will completely pass us by. However, at this point, there is more than enough room for failure. If this new thread was needed to move us to our highest point on the search, then it is clear that if we are not consistent in our thread-making and activity from this point onwards, we will not dive into the new wave of interest and really enjoy the sights under the surface. If we become any more unwilling to capitalise, to express or to impress the wave, then not even Poseidon (Trident or no Trident) would grant us entry to Lemuria. Our future Atlantis of "look how far we have come", "great work", "wow, what a cool place" and "nice to meet you" would be shut away from us for laziness and apathy, and six years of effort would come to nothing.

Please, consider what is really possible when thirty-six people really try to achieve something together. Golden Sun DS might be yours in a future moment, like a childhood dream or daring hope, which for some of us it has been for a very long time. I know this because there is no other way that people would have worked this hard so far. After all, the fact that such a moment will matter to you so much comes about in no small part as a result of this forum and its past versions. That moment matters because of a remarkable collective commitment to a community that has more to it than what is spoken or a past, that instead reaches into the realm of dreams and pulls things into the world of the mind and ultimately the experience of the body for us. Not all of the people involved in this forum think so highly of it, and so we constantly hear. So: let us give these doubters reason to rethink such a thoughtless rejection.

Another image comes to me as I write this: one of a forum full of new people, a place of crazy ideas; constant posting, endless thought, conjecture, logic... and a hundred or many more friendships growing the knowledge and wisdom of all involved. That place is a very real possibility if we continue to rise through the Google ranks. The ideal is a good one, but more important than the ideal is the fact: we must keep talking. Never think that what you would say isn't good enough: I know many of you sometimes think such things. But if you disagree, say so, and tell us why. If you agree, say so, and tell us why. We all care enough to listen, or we wouldn't be here after six years. That's why kindness threads and the like have always been successful with us.

We must keep our enthusiasm and think further into the new game and theorise about the related possibilities. If there is the vaguest thought left unexpressed on the new game, fire away! You may find that such a thought is incomplete for a reason: you need others to fill in the blanks. Investigate it, argue it, think it through; break the code, so we can all understand why the game is going to be what it will be. We do after all have only a few images to think about. Still, analysing such images might bring about more than just a thousand words. It might bring new colour to this forum's part in our lives.

So let's see this all the way to page one. Let's show Cinder that abandoning her creation might have created some friendly competition.

That's an inspiring post Silva. "...we must keep talking. Never think that what you would say isn't good enough..." That's what stuck to me the most. If you have anything to say, even anything at all counts for something. After all, when you're talking with your friends, you just speak whatever comes to mind, even one word, right?

Personally, I think we need a forum skin and banner more than anything right now. Going up through the ranks would probably be easier if we got a better design set up. If people looked at the site, it may or may not come to their minds as "Oh look, a half-assed put together forum with no banner or no fancy skin." Sure, we have quite a few good threads and content on here already, but the first impression of a well-designed forum banner and skin would probably help pull in people in the future.

Just saying. Great achievement so far though, I'll definatly post whatever GSDS related topic comes to mind as I have been already. :p

LE: This is what I keep saying >.> the main thing I get back is: lets wait till we can code our own unique perfect one, which is all well and good, but a temp one with colours and a banner needs too be put in until then, because it could be a long time before our own is ready to go! We've been here for months, still waiting on CR to upload the smilies so I can add them, which has gone beyond frustrating by now.

We're poised to enter page three of the "golden sun forums" search, now! Similarly, we're on page six of "golden sun DS forums", which is a less common but more specific search.

Remember, anything you can come up with regarding any Golden Sun game, past, present, or future, will help us towards our goal. Currently, it's the Golden Sun: The Lost Age subforum that's high up in the search. We want more than just that up there, though pushing it up further is also highly desirable.

Cipher, if you have time to work on the layout, please do so. I don't mean to rush your work, of course (we shouldn't rush genius). So, take as much time as you need. But keep in mind that the sooner we have it installed, the more registrations we'll get. Already, we're starting to get a few, as some might've noticed. So far, none have posted. We should make like a firework, and dazzle.

EDIT: Hmg, we're getting a new member sign up every few days. o.o Awesome. Just a matter of time before people start posting.

So for me, it's appearing as page 4, 3rd result from the top right now. I'm curious, where is it for everyone else at the moment?

4th on 4th page. Nobody's gonna go here by google there when there's 4 pages ahead of us. Really, we dont have much chance for traffic if we dont get on the first page. Even then, most people are still gonna go for the first two or three results.

True. I guess we just need to spam up the forum a bit then until that happens.

We need to get some of the old stalwarts revived, such as the 'What are you listening to?' thread. Speaking of which, I'll see if I can hunt that one out...
