Notes
LC is the tentative name for the game I eventually plan to program, most likely with flash. These are just randomly typed notes about game play and story that I've written down so I don't forget them.
Everything written here is tentative and subject to change.
The game will have several branches. It'll affect party members, items you get, character development, and of course the story itself. Certain actions could make the 3rd year never even happen, or make everything screw up, but in a different way.
Three years:
The game takes place over a time of three years. The first year is when you spend the most time exploring the world, and finding people to join your cause. The second year is when you get a base of operations, letting you send npcs to do things for you, and also lets you set up your own shops and the likes. The third year is the final year to get everything done.
Switch in System:
Only three people will be on the field at any one time, being controlled either by you or the AI. The other two will be off to either the top or the bottom of the field, in the middle. At any time in battle you can take your character or tell one of the others to them and switch with them without penalty. The two outside of battle cannot be attacked, but will still suffer from status effects, like a burn or wound. Enemies will also be able to do the same, also constantly changing how they fight, requiring you to change as they do, and making sure you don't neglect anybody, but only if the enemy is a human group. All characters will get experience from each battle, but higher percents will be given out to characters that spent longer in battle.
Drawn Skill system:
Skills will be activated by certain symbols drawn on screen. Generic skills between all classes will still differ slightly between characters, the more skillful fighters will have simpler symbols than the clumsy ones, and all unique skills will also have unique symbols. Bonuses or penalties will be applied for accurate/inaccurate drawing. A few skills might have hidden shortcuts or power ups in the symbols, learned through in game scenes, logic, or trial and error. Game play will slow down, though not stop, when drawing. If you are hit while drawing, you'll lose concentration and have to bring up the skill again.
HUD/Ring System:
Across the left side of the screen will have bars for the characters currently in battle, for health and endurance, and smaller bars for the characters outside of battle. The right side will have estimates of the enemy's health, more or less accurate depending on who you assign the intelligence job to. On the top will have a ring for items, with buttons to click to scroll through the current item type, and to change the item type. Think of a less intrusive version of Secret of Mana's item system, only going left to right instead of around the character. You can concentrate to slow down time to better go through your items, and it will also show more than just the name and hp/mp healed. While you can’t select items during a pause, you can go through your list of items in the pause menu for better time to think. Skills work the same way, only on the bottom of the screen.
Phugnir Crystal System:
Phugnir is the name of the man who first discovered the power of these crystals, Tylor Phugnir, which is why they were named after him. Phugnir crystals can be placed in the 10 Spectral weapons, and to a weaker extent, the Synthesized Spectral weapons. There are also rumors of there being normally forged weapons, lost to the modern day, which can hold the power of the Phugnir crystals. When inserted into a Spectral weapon slot, the weapon will close up over it and absorb the power from it, where you will be unable to take it out until its power is depleted. You can then take the crystal out, where it's useless, unless you find special synthesizers who can restore power into them. These powers can range from changing the element of the weapon, giving it new status effects, increasing stats, even letting you use special skills when it's equipped. The real spectral weapons have no limit on the amount of skills it can have, it's only limited by how many crystals you find. The synthesized ones have a limit, depending on which ones you use.

Endurance:
Endurance is hard to explain in terms like the other four stats. Skills and magic don't use Sp or Mp or any system like that. Whenever you use one, your endurance lowers a little. It also lowers when you do anything, attack, run, jump, use an item, though at a different rate depending on what you do. The lower your endurance, the longer everything takes, because you're tired. Movement will slow, jumps wont go as far, attack will take longer to act again after, spells will take longer to cast. As you increase your endurance stat, the more you have, and the less actions use up. Standing still will increase endurance, walking doesnt take any, certain spells can transfer it, and certain items can restore it.
Confidence:
Everybody has a default level that cant be raised through level up, but is affected through a wide range of modifiers. You get a penalty if the enemy you're facing is alot stronger than you, bonus if they're alot weaker. Different characters will get buffs or debuffs depending on how they feel towards other characters, and these get changed as the story progresses. They also get small bonuses if characters have fought alot together, and small penalty if they havent fought together alot, or if they have been KO'd alot with them in the fighting party. The stat effects overal speed, movement, attack, spells, etc, like endurance.
In Control System:
Each character has a certain level of control over each spectrum, changing how well they fight with it. As you fight with a spectrum, your control of it will go up, increasing your efficiency and proficiency with the spectrum, and also letting you use new abilities with it. As you gain control in one spectrum though, you'll lose control of others, more or less depending on if it's the character's main, if it's in the same set as the character's main, and how much control you already have in a spectrum. The more and more control you have in a spectrum, the harder it is to continue increasing that, and thus you'll lose control in the others faster. It has been said though that once you have complete and total control over a spectrum though, that you can no longer lose control over it. If that's true though, it's unlikely you'd be able to keep complete control over several spectrums.
Death System:
When you lose all your HP, you are not killed, but only knocked out. This is the same as most other rpgs. The difference in LC is that when you're knocked out, a second HP bar shows up, about 5% of your max HP. When this bar is depleted as well, the character is killed. If a character is dead at the end of a battle, the few ways to cure death can be automaticly used. If you choose not to, or are unable to, it's a game over. To prevent this, you can cure people from a KO'd status about as easily as you can in most other games, buyable items or semi-cheap spells. For curing death, there are very few items in the world can do that, along with only one spell that is extremely difficult to master and cast. When a character is KO'd, you can drag their body around, to either prevent them from getting hit by an attack, or off to the sidelines where they will then be unable to be hit unless switched in again for whatever reason.

Ledah: "Come on Nerof, keep up! I want to finally teach Crenik a lesson!"
Nerof: "I'm right behind you, calm down, damn. Why am I here anyways?"
Le: "I told you, Crenik isn’t the type to come to a fight alone, I need you here."
Ledah and Nerof continued to run down streets and through various alleys, going to an old basketball court where Crenik had challenged Ledah to a fight the day before. They have always been rivals, something not helped by Ledah's crush on Crenik's girlfriend, Karlyn. For a reason unknown to Ledah though, Crenik's hate has been much deeper than a high school rivalry. No, Crenik didn’t just invite him here to fight; he invited him here to kill him.
Crenik invited Karlyn here, though despite constant nagging, he refused to tell her why. Crenik was crazy like that though. She and Ledah were still good friends, and he wanted her to watch as he died. Karlyn was about to try to ask yet again when Ledah and Nerof finally rounded the corner.
Crenik: "Well, well, well. You decided to show up after all."
Four of Crenik's friends came up to stand beside him, all carrying various street fight weapons, Brass Knuckles, Bats, and Knives. Crenik had his trademark and customized combat knives.
Karlyn: "You're going to fight them!? No Crenik, I'm not going to let you do that! Nerof and Ledah are my friends, how do you think I could just stand here and watch this!?"
Cr: "Shut up bitch, you're going to do what I tell you to, and I told you to come here. If you're not going to shut up, I'll shut you up my self."
Ka: "What the hell's gotten into-"
Crenik put his whole body weight into his swing, hitting her hard in the side of her face with his forearm, knocking her off balance, making her hit her head on a nearby brick wall. She slowly slid down the wall, unconscious.
Le: "What the fuck, this is exactly why I wanted to do this! You son of a bitch, I'm not going to let you hurt the people I care about any longer!"
Ledah rushes Crenik, with Nerof right behind him. While neither of them have weapons, both have practiced hand-to-hand combat enough to be able to deal with Crenik's group.
[Ledah, Nerof vs. 2 of Crenik's friends]
Cr: "So, you two can fight. But you can't fight me. You're about to die."
Crenik kicks aside the bodies of the two Ledah and Nerof knocked out, pure rage, pure focus in his eyes.
[Ledah, Nerof vs. 2 of Crenik's friends, Crenik(invulnerable)]
Le: "Ha, looks like you're the only person left Crenik, you picked some bad friends for fighting."
Cr: "Please, you two don't look like you're in much better condition. I've had enough bullshit though, I'm killing you, and I'm killing you now!"
Crenik runs over to a nearby dumpster and pulls a light weight chain gun out, along with several bands of ammunition. Nerof starts to have a blackish glow, his nails growing into claws, wings sprouting out of his back, tearing easily through his shirt.
Ne: "Ledah, get back, take cover, I'll explain this later. I'll handle this; I think I've developed my powers enough to take a few bullets. More bullets than you at least, that's for sure."
[Ledah, Nerof vs. Crenik]
{Basketball hoops can be knocked over for a large amount of damage.}
Nerof and Crenik both stop fighting for a moment, regaining their breath, both having of hurt the other significantly.
Ne: "Holy shit, how can somebody be so quick while holding a gun like that..."
Cr: "You're not as smart as you think!"
Crenik rushes into a surprised Nerof, getting hit right in the stomach by the end of Crenik's chain gun. Nerof got thrust into a chain fence on the opposite side of the basketball court, partly from Nerof being too surprised to change his flight path, partly from Crenik hitting him that hard.
Cr: "Time to die!"
Le: "Son of a bitch!"
Ledah ran up to Crenik before he had a chance to shoot at Nerof, and smashed a baseball bat he picked up off the field over Crenik's head. Crenik staggered, giving Ledah time to turn him around, and knee him in the groin. This knocked Crenik onto the ground, giving Ledah time to run over to Nerof.
Le: "Hey dude, you okay? You gotta get up!"
Ne: "Ugh, yeah, I will be, give me a minute..."
Before Ledah could help Nerof get up though, Crenik had gotten up, and hurled his chain gun towards them. His aim was off, as it should be for anybody who was just kneed in the groin, and it hit above Nerof and Ledah, who was kneeling. Without warning though, Crenik rushed up to Ledah, picked him up over his head with both arms, and threw him into the hole in the wall the chain gun had made. Ledah yelled out in pain as he crashed into a desk as he landed.
Le: "Shit...Didnt know he was this powerful...Wait, is this the old elementary school?"
Ledah looked around the room, and it did look like an old, abandoned elementary school room. Old, dusty wooden desks were scattered haphazardly around the room, barely readable posters still on the walls, but with greatly faded colors. From the inside you could see that the windows had been blocked by a brick wall built on the outside, for reasons unknown.
Before Ledah could take in his new surroundings any more, Crenik walked towards him, right through all the rubble on the ground, pure rage in his eyes, turning a darker and darker shade of blue at a constant rate. They stared at each other, Crenik standing perfectly still, except for his laughter.
Le: "Why the hell are you laughing? Have you gone insane!?"
Cr: "Hahahahaha! I've wanted to do this for so long, to crush every single bone in your body, and squeeze all your organs out through little holes...hahahaha! What's best is that I even get to show Karlyn your skewered and shattered remains!"
Crenik burst into an extremely loud and insane laugh as Ledah slowly got up, obviously impaired by his wounds from the fight, and being thrown. Before he could do anything though, a fairy popped up from underneath the rubble, a light blue dust falling from it every flap of its tiny wings.
Le: "What’s that...?"
The fairy flew over to and started to circle around Ledah, covering him and the area around it in the dust. It was cold where ever it touched, but never for a moment, and left a tingling sensation through his clothing. The fairy disappeared as it spiraled around and over his head, gone as quickly as it appeared. Before any chance of figuring out what just happened, Crenik stopped laughing, staring again, his eyes nearly pure black. Then, without warning, he charged straight at Ledah.
Le: "No!"
Reflexively, Ledah put up his arms to protect himself, but as he did, thick sheets of ice come up through the ground in the same motion, right in Crenik's path. He crashed into them, staggering then falling backwards.
Cr: "What the HELL did you just do!?"
Le: "Holy shit, what the hell did I just do?"
Crenik gets up again, pointing at him with one of his two knives.
Cr: "Doesn’t matter, you're dead, witchcraft or not!"
[Ledah vs. Crenik]
{Halfway through the fight a worm appears out of Crenik's back, you can finish the battle by defeating this too.}
A few minutes after the battle Nerof will wake up.
Ne: "Ugh...What the hell did he do?"
Le: "He got in a lucky hit with his chain gun on you. You know, with the actual chain gun, not bullets."
Ne: "I see you took him down at least. How though? Something's special about him if my demonic spectrum powers couldn’t let me beat him."
Le: "This weird fairy thing came and did, something, and I could use some type of icey magic. I'm not even sure how I did it, just that I did."
Ne: "Heh, congratulations man, that fairy has awoken your elemental spectrum powers."
Le: "Elemental, Demonic, spectrums, what the hell are you talking about, and what the hell is going on?"
Ne: "I guess I have a lot to try to explain. What do you want me to explain first?"
Le: "I don't want you explaining anything yet, Karlyn might be hurt, let’s get her over to your house first."
Ne: "Always caring about her before anything else. Okay, help me carry her."
Le: "You just took a beating too, you sure you're okay?"
Ne: "Yeah, I'll be fine. She's not that heavy."
Ledah and Nerof each take a side of her, and start carrying her through the ally-ways, back towards Nerof's house. As they start to carry her, it starts to snow lightly, and Ledah begins to shiver.
Ne: "Hey man, you're shivering a lot, are you cold? It's really not that bad out."
Le: "Yeah, I've never been cold in weather like this before. Maybe my body is just complaining after the adrenaline rush."
Ne: "Probably. Let’s just focus on getting home."
Ledah and Nerof finally get her to Nerof's house, upstairs, and onto Nerof's bed. Outside the window you can see that the snow has changed from light to very heavy. Ledah and Nerof start to check if she's harmed or not.
Le: "Well, she doesn’t seem to have any cuts or majors wounds, but she's still out."
Ne: "Sorry man but we're just going to have to wait."
Le: "Ugh, I HATE waiting! Might as well start explaining everything that's going on, pass some time."
<A menu appears where you can select 5 things: Demonic, Elemental, Spectrums, and worm.>
Le: "Explain your "demonic" power crap; I've never seen you do anything like that before."
Ne: "I got my powers on my 16th birthday. The wings, claws, and all that come from the power the demonic spectrum lent me. I'm not sure yet why I got them, or why it was the demonic spectrum I got my power from. I could have had elemental like you, or Angelic spectrum. I'm still researching the topic, but I do know that you're supposed to keep it low profile, it isn’t good if too many people know about our power."
<Angelic gets added to the list after you talk to him about Demonic powers.>
Le: "What about my powers, you said they're elemental?"
Ne: "Your ice powers are from the elemental spectrum, the largest one. It controls your ice powers, along with fire, and electricity. No, I don't know why you got ice. Perhaps it was most fitting for your personality."
Le: "What about wind, water, rock, and all the other stuff like that?"
Ne: "I guess when these spectrums were created, it wasn’t deemed fit that people should be able to control those, or something. Never read anything about people using those powers."
Le: "You mentioned an Angelic spectrum too?"
Ne: "The third one. It isn’t an opposite of demonic or anything like that. They are also one of the reasons why we want to keep our powers low profile; they hunt people that have demonic and elemental spectrum powers. That's about all I know about it, I can't find anything about it. "
Le: "Angelic is supposed to be 'good' though, or at least that's what everything media says. Why would they hunt down others? Or at the very least, why hunt down elemental people?"
Ne: "You know what I've said dozens of times. There's no su-"
Le: "There's no such thing as good or evil, only conflicting opinions. What's good to one person is evil to another."
Ne: "Exactly. Most video games and stories and the likes have you see from the 'hero's' perspective. They never give you a chance to see from the 'villain’s' side, never give you a chance to see you might not be as righteous as you think. This time, we're playing from the 'villain’s' side."
Le: "What are these spectrums in general anyways?"
Ne: "Spectrums are what the three planes of "special" powers are called. You already know the three, Elemental, Demonic, and Angelic. I've yet to uncover where they came from, who made them, how they were made, or anything. This research is hard you know."
Le: "Wow! That was helpful!"
Ne: "Shut up, anymore questions?"
Angelic gets added to the list after you talk to him about spectrums if you have not already talked about Demonic powers.
Le: "Okay, tell me about that worm that was in Crenik."
Ne: "...What?"
Le: "There was a small worm in Crenik's back that I destroyed."
Ne: "......Shit."
Le: "Is that bad?"
Ne: "Very bad. Very bad. It means the Shikinan clan's back."
Le: "What?"
Ne: "Generic evil clan that wants to take over the world, or destroy it, blah blah...blah.... Later on I'll show you my research about it later; it could take a while to explain. It's a very good thing you killed the worm instead of Crenik though. If the host of a worm dies without the worm dying, it releases thousands of evil spirits into the air, which probably would have gotten into you me and Karlyn. That would have been bad."
Le: "What the hell? How can you say something like that so calmly?"
Ne: "You'll understand as you read stuff about it and other stuff about spectral history. You start to not be effected by this type of thing."
Le: "..."
Ne: "Anything else?"
Le: "No, and Karlyn's still not up, so lets go get some snacks, I'm starving."
Ne: "Me too, let’s go downstairs."
A few minutes after coming back upstairs to the bedroom, after getting various random snack foods and making even more random horrible puns, Karlyn started to wake up.
Ne: "Hey Ledah, she's getting up."
Both of them walked over to the bed from the couch in front of Nerof's TV.
Ka: "Hey...What am I doing in a bed? I only remember objecting to you guys fighting Crenik...You guys didn’t did you?!"
Le: "Unfortunately, yeah. His friends got up and took Crenik somewhere when we were taking you here. Didn't kill any of them."
Ne: "Crenik is in pretty bad condition, considering the stuff that happened to him."
Le: "...Can we tell her?"
Ne: "About what?"
Le: "The one thing about this whole thing that I'm actually hesitating to ask about."
Ne: "What...OH!"
Le: "...Sometimes I don't understand how you can be so smart at other times."
Ne: "Yeah, I think we can tell her. She's trustworthy."
Le: "You sure? It doesn't seem like something that should be told to everybody."
Ne: "She's not everybody, and arent you the that's supposed to be the one that trusts every inch of her with your life."
Ledah and Nerof explained the whole fight, and then their spectral powers.
Ka: "So you guys are all superhero like now? Would be pretty awesome, if you didn’t use those powers to hurt Crenik..."
Le: "Karlyn, you know that I wouldn’t hurt him without having a good reason. And living seemed like a pretty good reason for me."
Ka: "I guess...why would he do something like that though? He's not the least violent person out there, but I dont think he'd ever kill someone, expecially a friend on mine."
Le: "Something wasnt right about him, it wasn't the Crenik you know."
Ka: "I belive you. For now though, I'd like to get some sleep, my head still really hurts."
La: "Sure, rest as much as you need to. If you need anything, call, we'll still probably be up for a while."
Ka: "Thanks Ledah."
Le: "Of course, you know I'm always here for you."
Ne: "Good night Karlyn."
Ka: "Good night Nerof."
-----Outside of the house-------------------------------------
As Ledah and Nerof are walking outside, they run into Isei, in a new outfit, the outfit of the Union's eastern Taskforce.
Isei: "Hey Ledah, Nerof. Long time no see."
Ledah: "! Isei?! Holy shit, I haven’t seen you in forever! And you're in the taskforce, wow... You've really been busy."
Is: "Yeah. That's why I'm here actually. I got a complaint filed by a friend of a person named Crenik, saying you assaulted him and his friends, I'm supposed to check it out."
Nerof: "God damn it, I should of figured they'd try to blame this on us."
Is: "Care to explain then?"
Ledah and Nerof explain the whole fight, except leaving out the details about spectral powers.
Is: "Hmm... The story seems to match up well enough with what his friend said, only from a different perspective...only you two left out Nerof looking like a demon and Ledah creating ice."
Ne: "Well, yeah, I guess that might have happened. Do you believe it?"
Is: "Kinda, I always knew you were a messed up person Nerof. If it's true, I can see where you guys wouldn’t bother explaining, most people wouldn’t believe it."
Ne: "I don't think we're exactly supposed to tell you about it, and it's also not something we want to the taskforce involved with."
Is: "Well, if you don't tell me why the two stories don’t match up, I'm going to have to arrest all people involved."
Le: "Nerof, I think it'd be in our best interest to tell her, don’t want to get arrested, where more people where hear the story. Then they'll hear the differences between the stories, and we'd have to explain it, or get tested somehow for it, anyways."
Ne: "...Fine. Just promise not to involve the rest of the taskforce, no good's going to come out of any more people knowing then neccisary."
Is: "I promise."
Nerof explains what he had already explained to Ledah about spectrums.
Is: "Hmm...I have nothing but common sense to say you're lying, and if you're telling the truth common sense isn’t right, so whatever, I'll believe you."
Le: "We could just show you, though of course not here."
Is: "Of course, I wouldn’t ask you to do something like that in such a public area."
Ne: "Well, if there are any rules about this, we're already breaking them, so I guess we should."
Is: "How good at using these skills are you Ledah?"
Le: "Not too good yet. Why?"
Is: "Well, we haven’t fought for a while, I thought it might let you finally beat me."
Le: "I'm alright with that, let’s do it."
Is: "Cool then. Come to the taskforce's base in Orienterra?"
Ne: "No no no no no! That would be worse than out on the streets! They have the whole building under surveillance; no matter how empty the place is, somebody would know!"
Le: "Nerof's right. Probably best to just find some secluded back streets or the likes."
Is: "Fine. Tomorrow, find me at the Inn, we'll find a place to do that then."
Ne: "Sure thing."
Le: "See ya then."
-----The next morning, at the Inn---------------------------------------
Isei: "Hey guys. So, where am I going to see this demonstration?"
Ledah: "How about behind my house? Nobody's home this week, and nobody should be able to see us."
Nerof: "That sounds like a good idea."
Is: "Sure then, lead the way."
The three of them head over to Ledah's house, and then to the backyard, completely fenced off, with a large hill at the far right corner extending past the fence, further blocking anybody from seeing in.
Nerof: "So, will there be the regular rules, or are those not going to work anymore, what with Ledah's new skills, and Isei's new gear?"
Ledah: "I think the normal rules should still work."
-----A couple weeks/months later---------------------------------------
After Ledah, Nerof, and Naztheros rested from fighting the 5th robotic spider in the cave, they finally found the door to Caff's inner chamber. They can finally talk to him to learn more about the three spectrums, and why these three even have spectral powers. Ledah pushed the door open, to find a crystal covered room much like the entrance, with a pathway up to Caff's throne made almost purely of crystal, over a pristine lake that looked like it hadn’t been touched in thousands of years. Naztheros started to talk as they approached him.
Naztheros: "Hey man, do you sit up there ALL the time, or did you know we were coming, and sat down as we got close to you and stuff?"
Ledah: "Dude, shut up, don't be rude to someone as important as this."
Caff: "It's okay, you may speak freely in my chamber. I was watching you guys with my cameras, and just sat down about a minute ago. You guys could of taken a little longer though, I think I was getting somewhere with those girls in my hot tub in the back."
Nerof: "Hot tub? Can we-"
Ca: "No."
Ne: "Aww..."
Le: "Could you please explain the information about spectrums we asked about? Preferably Naztheros's wind elemental powers? I thought there were only three."
Ca: "Ah yes. Wind is part of the second elemental set, along with water and earth. Water, Wind, and Earth make up the matter spectrum because they represent the three types of matter, solid, liquid, and gas, which I hope at least one of you noticed. The destruct spectrum is made of Fire, Ice, and Electricity, representing three of the more minor types of natural disasters, Wild Fires, Blizzards, and Thunder Storms."
Le: "You said that you wanted everything in sets of threes, but what about demonic and Angelic?"
Ca: "They are part of a third, special set. Angelic and Demonic are both spectrums themselves, but they are also part of a set of three with a third, Arcane, a spectrum very few people have, considering it's the most powerful of all of them."
Na: "And you have Arcane spectrum powers don't you?"
Ca: "That is correct."
Ne: "Pretty awesome. Can w-"
Ca: "No."
Ne: "Urg, Stop that..."
Ca: "No."
Na: "...So we heard you also have the ability to help others power up their spectral powers, is this true?"
Ca: "Yes, that's what I planned to talk about next. Right now, from what I can judge of you guys, only Nerof has developed his powers enough at the moment to even have a chance of receiving my gifts. Nerof, please step forward, you will fight me, and I may grant you the ability to activate another passive demonic ability."
Ne: "Do I have to-"
Ca: "No, you do not have to, and can not, beat me. I will fight at a lower skill than my best, and stop the battle when I think it's right."
Ne: "Great...Well, come on then, bring it!"
[Nerof vs. Caff]
{After a few minutes of fighting, if you win, Nerof wins the ability to have another passive skill slot for Nerof. If you lose before time is up, you can gain this ability by refighting him again at a later point.}

Celissa was finally surrounded by the split taskforce's soldiers, after trying to lose them in the back alleys around the western side of town. They believed the penumbra phugnir crystal she had on her would destroy the split taskforce, and stop Isei's plans.
Soldier: "It's up whore, give us the crystal and we may let you go home to your friends and the rest of Ledah's stupid mercenaries."
Celissa"...I'm not going to give you this crystal. I promised Ledah I'd get this to him. He trusts me, and I'm not going to break that trust."
So: "Then prepare your self, you're about to die."
Ce: "Somebody...anybody...please...help..."
Before any of the soldiers are able to attack, the alley way goes completely black, blinding Celissa and the soldiers alike. The soldiers start to mutter between each other, trying to gain their bearings, but those are quickly stopped by most of them being thrown against brick walls by a strong unseen forces. As the blackness fades, Nerof jumps down from the top of the buildings.
Nerof: "Ledah saw the amount of soldiers they sent over you, he left Caff to lead the rest of them to deal with Shikinan, and he sent me to make sure you got back safely. He took Karlyn with him to preempt their leader. We wanted him to come help you, but he said he'd be helping more by stopping any more of the split taskforce to come after you. Hope my little dark trick didn’t scare you too much. You okay to fight?"
Ce: "Yeah, they didn’t hurt me, yet, I'm fine, I can help."
Ne: "Good. None of us would want to deal with Ledah if he heard you were hurt. Well, lets get down to business. Ready?"
Ce: "Yup."
Ne: "Well then. Soldiers, I'm Nerof, second in command of Ledah's mercenaries. Ready to die?"
[Nerof, Celissa vs. chain 5 battle vs. 4-8 soldiers each, no heal]

Ledah and Karlyn finally got to and broke into the President's room, where Elnif, leader of the split taskforce, was waiting.
Elnif: "What the hell are you doing in my HQ? You shouldn’t have any time for this, what with most of my taskforce being out chasing your silly girlfriend Celissa, and Shikinan attacking the rest of you."
Ledah: "We're killing off a major pain in the ass, your stupid taskforce. We won’t have to deal with any more of your soldiers going after Celissa, or harassing innocent citizens. Your force is exactly what government SHOULDNT be, and we won’t let it run around any longer!"
El: "You think I'm going to let you stop us? You think I'm going to let you stand against Isei's rule?"
Le: "You really think this is what Isei wants!? I've known Isei for most of my life; this isn’t something she'd do!"
El: "She? Get it right you dumbass, Isei's a dude! Isei's a dude, and this is HIS world now!"
Le: "His world huh? Isei, what the hell are you doing...?"
Karlyn: "It doesn’t matter Ledah, what matters now is stopping the split taskforce and saving Celissa and the penumbra crystal!"
Le: "Ugh, you're right. Let’s do this!"
[Ledah, Karlyn vs. Elnif + steady reinforcements of soldiers, no heal]
-----Year 1 Finale: Urbsattrum back alleys---------------------------
Celissa: "There’s too many of them, we're never going to get out of here..."
Nerof: "We're not going to let them win, there's too much at stake here. We got to decimate whatever of the split taskforce comes this way, and get back in time to destroy as much of Shikinan as we can."
Ce: "what about Ledah and Karlyn?"
Ne: "You obviously can't go there, we can't just deliever what we're protecting to them."
Ce: "Then how else is this crystal supposed to take them out?"
Before Nerof can anwser, a solider farther down the alley fires a cannon, exploding near Celissa and Nerof, knocking Celissa down and the crystal out of her pocket. The crystal was glowing a bright, but dark purple, almost black, with the same color fog swirling around it.
Ne: "The crystal, is it activated?"
Ce: "But how?"
Another cannon shot is fired , this time exploding too high above them.
Ne: "No time to wonder about that now, we have more to deal with!"
[Nerof, Celissa vs. chain 5 battle vs. 5-8 soldiers each, no heal]
[If you use an aoe demonic skill with Nerof, and it hits the crystal laying around on the field, you'll get this scene, otherwise it will automatically happen after battle.
Ce: "Nerof! Your spell is causing the crystal to get brighter!"
Ne: "Whoa. Demonic skills give the crystal power..."
Ce: "Should we keep doing it?"
Ne: "I don't think so, we don't know what will happen, or if it could break it."
Ce: "Right. Send a pidgeon over to Caff after we're finished here asking him."
Ne: "Sure thing."
]
Ne: "Ugh, there's still more?"
Ce: "I'm getting tired, can't we run?"
Ne: "If we run, they'll just follow, or go over to our base, and they're already busy over there."
Ce: "Are we going to die?"
Ne: "Hell no. I won't let that happen."
-----Year 1 Finale: Urbsventus Split taskforce HQ President's Room---
Elnif: "Ermgh, you two are exceptional fighters..."
Karlyn: "That's teamwork for you."
Ledah: "And overall kick assness."
El: "Don't think this is over yet..."
Le: "And why not?"
El: "Heh, look out the window..."
Ledah and Karlyn look out the window, and from the president's room they can see the alley Nerof and Celissa are in below them. The alley is completely swarmed with split taskforce soldiers, upwards near one hundred of them.
Le: "Holy shit!"
El: "Better repeat yourself now!"
Le: "Wah?"
Before Ledah or Karlyn can turn around, two of Elnif's soldiers pick them up and throw them out the window, towards the alley
El: "It's always nice concentrating everything into one spot, less places to clean up..."
-----Year 1 Finale: Urbsattrum back alleys---------------------------
As Ledah and Karlyn are falling, Ledah grabs ahold of Karlyn, and uses his crystal slide skill to change their momementum to horizontal instead of vertical. Ledah slides them right to where Nerof and Celissa are.
Nerof: "Ledah, Karlyn? What the heck, you guys are supposed to be taking care of Elnif!"
Karlyn: "We kinda got thrown out of a window..."
Celissa: "Ledah!"
Celissa runs up to Ledah and hugs him.
Ledah: "You're okay, right?"
Ce: "Yeah, Nerof came and helped me just in time."
Le: "Thanks."
Ne: "Of course, she's one of us, isnt she? I wouldn't just let something happen to her."
Ka: "So how are we going to get back up there?"
Ne: "I think the bigger problem right now is just getting out of here."
Ce: "Can't you shadow the area Nerof, and then we climb out, or have Ledah slide us out, or something?"
Ne: "I doubt I could keep it up and in a large enough area for climbing to work, and we already tried him sliding in the dark, the ice shines REALLY brightly in the shadow for some reason. Then there's also the chance it could overload the penumbra crystal."
Ka: "What? Overload the crystal?"
Ce: "The crystal was in the area of one of his demonic skills, and it seemed to activate the crystal. We just don't know what it does, or if there's any side effects, so we're being careful with it."
Le: "It's a step in the right direction, that's for sure. We'll ask Caff, once we get out of here."
From the broken window, you can hear Elnif shouting.
Elnif:"God dammit! Can't anything die by falling anymore!? Soldiers, get me down there!"
A few moments later, Elnif jumps out of the window with a small, short distance parashute.
Le: "Looks like he's bringing himself down here for us, how nice."
[Ledah, Nerof, Karlyn [Celissa] vs. Elnif + quickly respawning soldiers]

After the fireworks show, Ledah went up to the roof of the Inn, to get away from everybody for a while. He loved his parties as much as everybody else, but couldn’t stay there for too long. He loved his silence and isolation just as much. After about a half hour of resting, sure enough somebody comes up to disturb his peace.
Ledah: "You again huh? I was kind of hoping people would take going up to the roof by myself and locking the door behind me as a sign that I wanted some time alone."
Holly: "You didnt lock the door correctly, it's a tricky one. I wanted to ask you earlier, but you always had so many people around you, and I'm not good with large crowds."
Le: "Really now? You're at the world's biggest festival, with one of its all time highest turnouts, and you say you don't like crowds."
Ho: "Can I join your mercenary group?"
Le: "Erm, what?"
Ho: "Sorry for the bluntness. I just-"
le: "What makes you even think we're a mercenary group? Whatever gave you that impression, it's wrong."
Ho: "I can sense your spectral power, all of you. There's so many different spectral powers flowing together, the only reason for that to even be possible these days is if you guys banded together to fight for something. It's rare enough to see normal spectral people to be near some one of a different spectrum."
Le: "Oh, so you can sense us... Nerof said some people in the fire spectrum can do that, so I'm going to assume that's yours?"
Ho: "Yup! Wanna fight and see?"
Le: "Sure, but not here, I'm not going to risk being caught. I will need to test your skills before I can let you join though."
Ho: "The only thing you care about is fighting strength? Wha-"
Le: "No, it's just the first thing you mentioned. Before we even fight, I'll introduce you to the rest of the group. Come with me."
Ho: "Thank you."
Le: (under his breath, after a deep sigh) "There goes the one chance I had in a long time to rest. Why'd I agree to lead this..."
-----Outside of town, temporary merc base--------------------------------
Ledah walks into the underground base with Holly following him, with most of the group there, except for Caff, who is almost constantly away doing various types of work, and Karlyn.
Ledah: "Caff's gone, what a surprise....where's Karlyn?"
Nerof: "I dunno, I think she went into town."
Naztheros: "Who's the new girl?"
Le: "This is..oh, wow. I never asked your name."
Holly: (blushing)"Sorry...I never thought of it cause I already know your name. I'm Holly."
Le: "Well Holly, this is Nerof, Naztheros, and Celissa. I don't know where Karlyn is, and Caff...well he isnt actually around lot, but he helps."
Celissa: "Hello Holly, nice to meet you."
Ho: "Wow, you guys are only 6 people? I thought it'd be a bigger group."
Ne: "Well, we manaeg to get stuff done. It's not like there's alot of people with spectral power out there. Pretty lucky that me Ledah and Karlyn all got ours awoken we we've all been friends for years."
Na: "Also seems like people with spectral power are attracted to each other, which is lucky."
Ce: "I wonder if we were destined to all get power and come together, or if it was random."
Le: "I don't really care how we all got together, I'm just glad for the fact that we have."

Ledah: "So, it's finally come down to this. Just you and me, Isei."
Isei: "It seems so. I don't want to fight you, but I don't see another option."
Le: "Me neither. It's a shame our paths had to be so different; we both are working towards the same type of goal."
Is: "I know, and it was fun, working with you. But I cannot step off of my path now; I will not be pushed aside."
Le: "And I'm not going to let you push me off mine either. I'm going to protect the people I love my way, and you're not going to stop me."
Is: "You were my best friend, all the way until that day I joined the Union's taskforce, and when you got your spectral powers."
Le: "Too bad one of the best events in each of our lives led us to this dreadful day. *long sigh* Let’s fight with honor, okay?"
Is: "Yes. I have released your friends, they're on their way up; I'd say it will take them about ten minutes. I'd like this fight to be over before then, to prevent them from interfering. Are you ready?"
Le: "Yes."
Is: "Very well then. Let us begin."
[Ledah vs. Isei]
[After Battle, Ledah wins before 8 minute mark]
Le: "You always were a great fighter Isei."
Is: "I'm glad...you could finally beat me..."
Le: "I'll end this now. May the road rise up to meet you."
Is: "And you as well...my friend."
[Ledah wins after 8 minute mark]
Le: "Damn, I beat you, never thought that would happen..."
Is: "Even a draw against me, would have been an improvement for you."
Le: "I'll never forget how great of a fighter you were Isei."
Is: "Just make sure, to save this world, whatever way you choose..."
Le: "I'll end this now."
Nerof comes in the room before Ledah can do anything, followed shortly by everybody else that was locked up.
Nerof: "What the HELL is going on here?"
Caff: "Looks like Ledah and Isei had a showdown, and Ledah won."
Everybody looks at Ledah and Isei, Isei on the floor, Ledah standing with the his spears point at her throat, both of them sweaty and bloody.
Karlyn: "But...you two were friends for so long...how could you do that to her!?"
Holly: "Karlyn, she was going to kill us all, and turn this world into something it isn’t!"
Celissa: "He did what as absolutely necessary to protect the people he loves."
Ka: "But..."
Le: "I didn’t want to you know, I don’t enjoy killing people I love."
Is: "Ledah..."
Charlotte: "Who are you to be condemning people for changing the world anyways Holly? We're doing the same thing!"
Naztheros: "Guys, don't argue, this isn’t the time!"
Ho: "It isn’t the same thing, it's -"
Le: "Holly, be quiet, it is. We're both just doing what we think is right."
Isei starts to groan in pain.
Ca: "You really did a number on her didn’t you Ledah? Karlyn, Charlotte, heal her?"
Is: "No..."
Ka: "But you must be in so much pain."
Is: "Don't, heal me..."
Ne: "You tried your best, but you lost, so now you want Ledah to kill you, right?"
Is: "...Please..."
Le: "Right. I'll stop your suffering."
Is: "Good luck...finishing what you started..."
Le: "Thank you, for everything."
[Ledah loses before 8 minute mark]

"King" Gavin: "Bring the criminals in here!"
Several dozen soldiers bring in Ledah and his friends, all handcuffed and unarmed. They all line up in front of Gavin's stand, where two hooded judges are on either side of him. The seating in the back is completely full, and many people are standing.
KG: "You nine are being charged with leading a mercenary operation working against Isei's soldiers, destroying Isei's allies, the Shikinan, and murdering our beloved Isei!"
At the mention of the last one, a good part of the crowd started boo and yelling inappropiately.
KG: "You all will have one chance to say something, and state if you believe you should be charged for your actions or not. Keely, we'll start with you."
Keely:"..."
KG: "Nothing?"
Ke: "..."
KG: "Very well then. David?"
David: "We should not be charged. I did what was needed to preserve the world I love."
KG: "Holly?"
Holly: "We should not be charged. The world Isei was going to create wasnt the one I grew up in. It isnt the one where everybody I care about lives. I couldnt let her do that."
KG: "Celissa?"
Celissa: "We should not be charged.I have few ties to this world. I helped with what we did because of Ledah."
KG: "Caff?"
Caff: "We should not be charged. Isei wanting to destroy all spectral power would drain this world, it would shrivel up and die, regardless of what she though, and regardless of what she tried to do. It's my duty as an Arcane fighter to protect the spectrum."
KG: "Karlyn?"
Karlyn: "We should not be charged. Ledah was doing the right thing. I didnt want to chance anything happening to my parents, Ledah, or any of our friends, and that would of happend if spectral power was destroyed."
KG: "How about you Naztheros?"
Naztheros: "We should not be charged. It was the thrill of a life time. I don't think I could of ever had more fun with fighting. Plus, this world is rather spiffy, I wouldn't want anything to change in it, except for this bullshit 'government' you think you're running. The old Union was great, not corrupted and led by bastards like you."
KG: "I'd watch how you speak around the man who can end your life at any moment. Nerof?"
Nerof: "We should not be charged. Ledah did the right thing. Isei was trying to turn this world into something it's not. He was also trying to perserve a good government. Most of all he was trying to perserve all the people he loves. All you people that believe what Isei was doing was right are deluded fanatics. Not to mention even Isei herself had doubts about it."
KG: "How about then you Ledah? What do you have to say for your actions, and leading all these people?"
Ledah: "..."
KG: "Speak Ledah!"
Le: "We should be charged."
All of Ledah's mercenaries gasped, along with most of the crowd, from both sides.
Le: "We had no right to go and make the world what we thought it should be without asking the people that have to live in it. What we were doing was no different then what Isei did. Isei was a close friend of mine for most of my life, I didn't want to murder her. But I thought this world was worth keeping, no matter the cost. I desperately wish I could of found some other way. King Gavin?"
KG: "Yes?"
Le: "I'd like to make a request."
KG: "I'll consider it."
Le: "I'd like all of my friend's actions pardoned, via my execution."

Ledah: "Are you the one that we were told to go to for more information on Spectral weaponry?"
???: "Yes, I am."
Le: "Then do you care to explain what you're supposed to?"
??: "The Phugnir crystals you have work with nintendite weaponry you've found correct? Well, those only work at a certain fraction of their normal power. They only work at all because nintendite is a special, non-natural metal. This metal was created by ancient spectral fighters. The weapons made out of it that you have found are both very old and extremely rare, most of the ones created were destroyed by Shikinan."
Nerof: "What."
Naztheros: "Shikinan goes back to what I presume are some of the first spectral fighters?"
??: "You are here to hear about spectral weaponry, not Shikinan."
Le: "He's right, we can look into that more later. No, we WILL look into that later, if that's true, I think it'll explain a lot."
??: "Why would I lie?"
Le: "I'm sorry, please continue."
??: "In addition to the pelindrite weaponry they created, they also created other, more powerful ones. Ones that couldnt be destroyed, ones that couldnt even be stolen. These weapons are created out of pure spectral energy, one for each of the ten spectrums."
Ne: "...Ten?"
Karlyn: "Can't you men shut the hell up and let this person finish?"
Holly: "Hah, right on Karlyn!"
Na:*mumbling* "You girls are talking to..."
??: "These items don't have any specific form. They're pure spectral energy, contained in spectrum crystals, hidden in areas considered sacred to that particular spectrum. Only someone who has extreme control over that spectrum can unleash the crystal, and when it does, the energy will take the shape of the type of weapon that the person perfers most. Lets say Ledah finds the ice spectrum crystal, and is in control of the spectrum enough to unleash it. I believe the weapon type you use is polearms, yes? Then the energy would take the shape of a polearm. This weapon can hold more crystals in it then any nintendite weapon, and it'll absorb the power of the crystal fully, instead of slowly and partialy."
Na: "You mentioned that they couldnt even be stolen?"
??: "These weapons are bound to the soul of the unleasher. Others can't even hold them, let alone use them. The unleasher is the only one that can ever use the power, untill the person dies. In that case, all the energy will be unleashed in an explosion also killing anybody nearby, and then it will reform at the original location after a couple hundred years or so."
